Ceramic and rattan draining tea tray.

Use this beautiful tray for tea preparation. Made of brown ceramic, it comes with a rattan teapot holder. These two beautiful pieces of craftsmanship are handmade. This serving tray allows water and/or tea to drain through the rattan into the ceramic tray. In addition, it is also a very nice teapot mat for the table.

As tradition dictates, it is customary to sprinkle your Gaiwan or teapot with your hot water to maintain the temperature of the teapot. This tea tray will also be used for rinsing the cups, leaves and preparing the tea infusion in the teapot.

This tea draining tray is traditionally made in Hu-Dian in Fujian. The texture of this ceramic is called “Wanhua”, because the appearance is matte, shiny, rough and soft to the touch. This quality of ceramic is fired in a kiln that voluntarily exposes the clay to flames. It is a very high temperature cooking at over 1300 degrees Celsius. It is a beautiful tea accessory that will take its place during the Gong-Fu-Cha ceremony.
