Large Tibetan flag with mantra and the 5 colors.
Hang flags and they will be like prayers and blessings carried by the wind. This flag is called Lung ta (which means “wind horse”) in Tibetan.
The five colors of the Tibetan flag represent:
- Blue for space and sky.
- White for air.
- Red for fire.
- Green for water.
- Yellow for earth.
Sometimes, yellow is replaced by orange, but it corresponds to earth in all cases.
Meaning of the horse in Tibet.
They are called “wind horse flags” because the horse is printed on them. The horse represents for the Tibetan people the three Jewels of Buddhism, Buddha Dharma (for its teachings) and the Sangha (the Buddhists).
Why hang prayer flags?
The mantra flag is hung for repentance, to ward off illness, dispel hatred, attract joy and prosperity. Tibetan flags are placed exposed to the wind so that their prayers can spread with the wind.
This model is large size 102 * 95 cm, it can be placed at the top of a pole. Smaller flag banners can be hung on the pole. You will find the banners by clicking HERE.
We remind you that tradition dictates that even very worn, a prayer flag should not be thrown in the trash.
To preserve the effect of prayers sown to the four winds, it is customary to burn it and scatter its ashes.
Note on the Tibetan Flag:
The package includes 1 flag 102 * 95 cm (without the pole).
